Year after year, Climb for Cancer hears the stories and the passion that comes from those who participate in the Climb. There is a drive – a desire with each person who takes that step on the stairs to make their mark – to make a difference and to Climb for someone.
Team Stair Bears originally started the team because there had been a recent loss of a loved one through cancer. The team wanted to join something positive that could help others. It is a cause they all believe in and want to make a difference, so one day, no one has to experience cancer.
“We are involved because it is a wonderful event, extremely positive and encouraging- with all walks of life joining and whether it is someone climbing because they are personally battling cancer, or if they have a loved one battling, or even to come out to show their support- you can feel the positive vibes the whole day. It is inspiring and uplifting to see people come together for one cause,” says Team Captain Deanna Bodden.
“We love being a part of this fundraising cause- we believe strongly in it, and we love being a part of a team that works toward a goal and helps to motivate each other.”
The Stair Bears love seeing and meeting new & old teams and being part of a movement of people joined in the same fight. They have already registered and look forward to participating again and are proud to be a part. “It is a very rewarding day for us!” Added Deanna. When asked what she and her team thought about last year’s 10 year anniverdary they had this to say: “We loved it- it was a wonderful day to be apart of, and we loved to see a cause only getting stronger and stronger within our Community.”
Thank you Team Stair Bears for 8 years of continuing to participate in the Climb for Cancer in support of Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
